Key project experience:
Solly is a Professional Engineer with extensive experience in geotechnical investigations and designs of geotechnical structures for building projects, bridges, electrical substations and power stations which were gained through private and public sectors. He has been involved in various academic institutions as a moderator and an external examiner for Foundation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Reinforced Concrete Design and Structural Steel and Masonry Design. Solly is currently a Chairman of Geotechnical Division of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers
Roles and responsibilities:
Solly has carried out and been responsible for:
- Design and management of piled foundations, pile cap designs, deep excavations and lateral support wall designs;
- Designs of foundations of electrical equipment;
- Structural design of reinforced concrete structures;
- Supervision and interpretation of various geotechnical in-situ tests, ground improvement using dynamic compaction technique, ground monitoring of movements and settlement of structures;
- Numerical modelling of geotechnical structures using PLAXIS finite element package, MPILE design software and FREW (Finite Retaining Wall Analysis);
- Site selection studies for new substation sites;
- Dolomitic stability assessment and design of foundations in dolomitic areas;
- Construction supervision;
- Terrace and platform design.

Key project experience:
Khotso is a registered Professional Engineer with 22 years of professional experience gained both in the design office as well as on construction site through various projects in the fields of geotechnical engineering, mining (Mine Residue Deposits) and tunnelling.
Roles and responsibilities:
Khotso has carried out and been responsible for:
- Structural stability surveillance and monitoring for Mine Residue
- Geotechnical investigations for Wind Farm projects comprising 80m high wind turbine units.
- Design review of geotechnical and tunnelling aspects of the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link
- Tender design of the Main Access and Cable tunnels for Eskom Lima Hydropower Project
- Geotechnical investigations for the Main Access and Cable tunnels for Eskom Lima Hydropower Project
- Geotechnical investigations and founding recommendations for expansion of the Toyota Pressline Facility
- Geotechnical investigations and design for various developments (housing projects, reservoirs, bridges, hospitals, etc) in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng

Associate Director/ Engineering Geologist
Key project experience:
Denzil has practiced as an engineering geologist for more than 20 years and has experience on various geotechnical infrastructure projects including jetty and quay developments, residential developments, pipelines, railway lines, power stations, bridges and small dams. This experience spans across the identification of problem soils, development on dolomitic land, location of construction materials, foundation design and construction supervision.
Roles and responsibilities:
Denzil has carried out and been responsible for:
- Client liaison, project planning and project management;
- Project scoping and site supervision;
- Field and laboratory data analysis;
- Lugeon/packer testing and analysis;
- Geotechnical report reviews and due diligence;
- Preparation of basis of design/ geotechnical design criteria;
- Compliance with standard specifications for exploration and geotechnical projects;
- Health and safety obligations and environmental management;
- Construction supervision for major soil and rock slopes and for retaining structures.
