Secant Pile Flood Wall Project

The MSC Cold Storage Warehouse project in Cato Manor, Durban, involved the construction of specialised piled foundations for a major cold-chain logistics facility.

The 15,000 m² warehouse was developed for MSC/MEDLOG to support the storage and handling of temperature-sensitive goods.

Mega Pile was appointed to complete the foundation piling works, which included installing 412 piles across the development. Each 500 mm-diameter pile was securely socketed into solid rock to provide the strength and stability required for the large warehouse structure.

Scope of Work

Installation of 412 foundation piles.
Each pile measured 500 mm in diameter.
Piles were securely socketed into solid rock.
Foundation piling for a 15,000 m² cold-storage warehouse.
The facility was designed to accommodate approximately 8,000–10,000 pallets.
Works were completed in Cato Manor, Durban, between 2023 and 2024.
