Mega Pile was appointed to construct the piling and soil-nail support system required to stabilise the bank and prevent further ground movement.
The stabilisation solution included the construction of a contiguous piled wall using 600 mm-diameter continuous flight auger (CFA) piles positioned midway down the embankment. A reinforced concrete capping beam connected the piles, with 13-metre-long soil nails installed through the beam to provide additional lateral support.
Following the stabilisation works, GBJ Developments backfilled the area behind the capping beam and reinstated the embankment using a Terramesh reinforced-soil system. The project was completed in 2025.
