King Cetshwayo Bridge

The King Cetshwayo Bridge project involved the construction of specialised foundation piles for a new bridge structure on the M13 over the N2 in KwaZulu-Natal.

Mukona was appointed to undertake the piling works required to provide a stable foundation for the bridge.

The project included the installation of 16 temporary cased piles, each measuring 1,050 mm in diameter and extending to an approximate depth of 19 metres. The piling solution was designed to accommodate the site conditions and support the structural requirements of the bridge.

Working alongside SANRAL, the main contractor Aero Structures and project engineers IX Engineers, Mukona completed the foundation piling works during 2025.
